THE BEST, MOST
EXCITING, FUN-FILLED, SAFEST JAMBOREE EVER!
CELEBRATING THE ADVENTURE
* CONTINUING THE JOURNEY
The centerpiece of the National
celebration of the
first century of Scouting will be the 2010 National Scout Jamboree.
Over 40,000 Scouts and Scouters from across the Nation and around the
world will come together for a two week celebration of Scouting. The
activities will be practically endless. More information about the 2010
Jamboree can be found at http://www.bsajamboree.org
The Atlanta Area Council will be represented by 6 Troops (216 youth and
24 adults) at the 2010 Jamboree as official participants. This will
truly be a once in a life time experience and space will be limited.
Participating Scouts must be between 12 and 18 at the time of the
Jamboree and at least have attained the rank of 1st Class.
Many other youth and Scouters can attend in staff positions. Formal
communication about the specifics of the Atlanta Jamboree Contingent
will be coming from the Council Jamboree Committee in the next few
months. Interviews for Jamboree Troop leadership positions will be held
in the early fall of 2008.
All youth and adult leaders must complete an online application. It is
accessed through www.MyScouting.org.
Applicants will need to use their BSA ID number or their Social
Security number to access the application Web site. This application
does not guarantee you a position for the Jamboree, but does get you
started on the process to be approved as a participant, or staff member.
